The ideal society would mean no more rivalry, no more adversity, no more poverty and no more persecution. Then again, we are not living in a perfect world. We see propensity around us. Not everyone is not born with wealthy parents. Demonstrably, there are people who still need to go to work and toil day and night just to provide food for the table or to send the children to good schools. Although, we are not living in the same status as some of us are fortunate to be born wealthy, it is basic that we learn how to give back to the community. By reaching out and helping others, we can make a difference. Cited below are some of the things that we can do to give back to the community.
Garage Sales For A Cause
Garage sales are very desirable for profit or non profit. Garage sales can do good to us and the community. Aside from making people cheery, we are making our place greener and more orderly. To begin, find a good cause to dedicate to. Then get three boxes. Label them as follows: First box: things to stay. Second box: things to donate. Third box: things to throw away.
Go through old drawers and cabinets and find reusable clothes. Drop them to their appropriate boxes. But, dump those raggedy clothes that are no longer wearable or use them as rugs. Go through the second box and check the condition of the apparel to check if they are still wearable. Besides attire, find other items that can be added to the sale like old books, lanterns, table and other cool stuff that are still useful.
After piling all the boxes, schedule the date of the garage sale. Tell friends about the activity and where the proceeds of the sale will go to. On the day of the sale, put a box for monetary donations. The donation box is for those who are not attracted to buy, but would like to extend help through monetary support. Put up streamers to tell everyone about the garage sale. After the garage sale, give the money to the selected cause. Brng also those stuff that were not bought and donate them.
Healthy And Entertaining Soup Kitchen
Two of the major problems, we are facing today are poverty and malnutrition. Ideally, we should be eating good balanced diet thrice a day. Then again, not all can afford to eat healthy meals thrice a day. One way to extend help is to organize a soup kitchen. Find people who are prepared to help in this project. Meet up and share original ideas. Pick a date and plan the menu. List the group of people who will benefit from the soup kitchen feeding program. It can be the kids in the nearby orphanage or the group of sick children in the infirmary. Coordinate with different organizations and groups as well. To make the soup kitchen fun and bubbly, ask friends and family members to sing a song or prepare a dance number. There are groups of medical practitioners who are willing to help in proceeds and community work, ask them for their support. They can check the kids’ health while those in charge of the soup kitchen are giving out bowls of soups and other nutritional food.
These days, people are learning to give and to reach out. Money is not everything. We can dedicate our time, assistance and talents to make others feel that they are not alone. By being selfless we are giving back to the society and making a difference today.
