There has long been a debate as to whether it’s better to send your child to a public school or to homeschool. You’ll likely be interested in some of the benefits of homeschooling if you and your spouse are having this debate. Keep reading to learn about some of them.
In public schools, teachers typically have a curriculum to teach from. This means that it’s already been decided exactly what your child is scheduled to learn. Some of the things that public schools teach children may not exactly be what you want them to learn.
If you start homeschooling your child, you can choose the exact curriculum. Your child will learn exactly what you want him or her to learn. It’s important that both partners in the marriage agree on the curriculum though.
One of the main problems with sending your child to a public school is all of the negative influences he or she will be exposed to. You can keep most forms of peer pressure at bay thanks to homeschooling. However, your child will still need some form of social activity though. Other children that are also homeschooled would make the perfect friends for your child.
The ability to set your own schedule is also a benefit of homeschooling. You can start teaching whatever time you want to. You can also take breaks whenever you need to. Couples would also have more time to spend together too.
Being taught in a public school means that your child will spend virtually all day in a classroom. Although they take field trips, they certainly aren’t very often. If you homeschool your child, you could take trips whenever you wanted. You could even use the extra time to plan a trip for the whole family. I’m sure your partner will agree on this.
In a public school, your child’s teacher may not know how well he understands the material. Your child wouldn’t get to benefit much from one-on-one time with the teacher since there will be plenty of other students that also need attention. Homeschooled children get the ability to spend as much time with their teacher as they need.
Homeschooling can be a great alternative to sending your child to a public school. If you’re having a hard time convincing your spouse to agree to homeschooling, make sure that you bring up some of these points. Doc No.sdlkh-sdAE
